Wood, reclaimed wood and veneer are all susceptible to both climate and the elements. Follow these basic care tips to ensure the longevity of your furniture:
CLEANING: When using cleaners, avoid wax-based furniture polish cleaners; some of the best-known brand name polishes on the market contain wax and silicone that will build up on the table surface, creating a "cloudy" appearance. Please read the contents and instructions carefully before applying a product to a wooden or veneered surface. For everyday cleaning, simply dust your pieces with a soft, lint-free cloth or feather duster. When heavier-duty cleaning is needed, wipe the surface with a damp (not wet) cloth or sponge, and follow immediately with a dry, clean, lint-free cloth.
DISCOLORATION: Please note that water will stain wood or veneered surfaces when left for a period of time, leaving a mark that can be much harder to fix. It is important to wipe in the direction of the wood grain to avoid unsightly streaks on the wood surface. Intense heat can lead to changes on the wood surface. Always use coasters, felt pads, trivets, or placemats to prevent heat and water from having direct contact with wood surfaces; such contact can cause discoloration. Direct sunlight may slightly darken or lighten wood furniture; move or rotate decorative objects on a regular basis to help to avoid odd light and dark patches. Note that based on the frequency of use and storage, dining table leaves may change tone at a different rate than the table itself.
GENERAL CARE: Avoid placing your furniture in highly humid or dry areas, such as directly next to air vents. Avoid contact with certain materials such as rubber, which might react with the finish of your product: oil finishes may be renewed by rubbing a light application of a penetrating oil with a very fine steel wool and wiping with a clean soft cloth to remove any excess oil.

We purchased this from the San Diego store in King size. Shipping would take about 10 days so we opted for home setup as well. I'm normally a DIY person when it comes to assembly but the total cost for delivery and setup (and hauling away the cardboard shipping boxes) was worth it in my opinion. The bed looks great and feels sturdy. The delivery driver did a great job and we are happy to have paid for the service. The lines of the bed are simple and elegant and there is plenty of attention to detail. I was impressed with the fit and finish of all the parts and with the slats. Too often the slats that support the mattress are thin and have a sloppy fit. Not the ones made by Wood Castle! The mattress feels very stable and I'm pretty sure we will have this bed for years.

I love the look of the bed, but I have to say I'm disappointed in one of the (critical!) choices made in the construction. Imagine you are lying on your back in the center of the bed. The three supports underneath you are narrow wooden pegs that have been screwed vertically into the frame. One of them shattered and I glued it back together. All three of mine skewed to the side in random directions making them useless. The bed began to sag in the middle. Given how badly the bed was sagging (and groaning), I fabricated my own center supports of a much sturdier design. This should have been done by the makers in the first place; I shouldn't have had to reinforce the construction given the price of the frame. Be aware you may need to do this yourself. After five years, no other parts of the bed have shown any problems, though. Overall I like it, but I just wish it had been designed more thoughtfully.

Delivery and setup were professional, the workers efficient and courteous. The bed is solidly constructed of solid maple and is lovely.
We had to fit the bed under the window . That’s why we were looking for specific height . We checked the website for the height measurement - 47 inches . When they delivered , it didn’t fit well under the window . The actual height is 50,5 inches. While mistakes might happen they have to be very accurate about this kind of stuff .
